Monticello Velvet Iris Keepsake Box

Jefferson recorded growing irises at Monticello. This was the inspiration behind this hand embroidered velvet box. Ideal for keeping mementos or keepsakes in one place. The lightly padded interior is lined with satin.

This unique piece has been entirely handcrafted by highly skilled individual artisans working in the century's old tradition of Zardozi.  Zardozi is an intricate multidimensional embroidery art form that creates an elaborate, opulent three-dimensional effect with the use of metallic threads and semi-precious and precious stones.
